In-patient sessions

Often life can be extremely overwhelming and articulating ones inner world in words can be challenging. Music therapy offers alternative interactions (not reliant on verbal processing) with the presenting difficulties faced by people who are admitted to hospitals/facilities. I offer various group and individual sessions based on the needs of the patients and the facility. Medical aid claim options available. Feel free to contact me for more information.

I am currently working at Akeso Crescent Clinic Randburg.

Personalised music playlist for Psychedelic-assisted therapy

R500*

Why the music is important?

The music used during psychedelic-assisted therapy offers a sense of safety in the face of emotional arousal as well as aid in finding meaningful resolutions to transient psychological struggles. It creates continuity within an experience of timelessness and offers structure as you let go and enter the inner world of your psyche. Although the effect and interpretation of the music are vastly different when in an altered state of consciousness there is merit in offering an individualised musical landscape. A personalised playlist will take into account cultural context, religious background, music preference, and intention for psychedelic-assisted therapy. The music can also be used after infusion sessions to assist with integration and therapeutic processing.

The music consultation for psychedelic-assisted therapy includes:

  • Completing a questionnaire regarding music preference and intention for the psychedelic-assisted therapy
  • A 30min telephonic or in-person consultation prior to your infusion after the questionnaire has been completed
  • A personalised 60min playlist

Please note that the questionnaire needs to be completed 3-4 days prior to your infusion session.
